Empuls supports full white-labeling so the platform feels native to your organization from day one. Super Admins can customize the program name, apply your brand’s color scheme, upload your logo, configure feed card backgrounds for milestones, and edit the homepage layout, all without any technical expertise.
The Branding page is organized into five tabs:
Only Super Admins can make branding and customization changes. General Admins and Managers do not have access to these settings.
Before you start, gather your company brand guidelines (color palette and logo files), your preferred program name if different from “Empuls”, and any regulatory or accessibility compliance requirements your organization follows.
Video walkthrough
Navigate to branding settings
Open the Admin Hub
Click Reports & Settings at the bottom of the left navigation panel to open the Admin Dashboard. Go to Platform Settings > Branding
In the Admin Hub, navigate to Platform Settings and click Branding. The Branding page opens on the Platform theme tab.
The Platform theme tab applies your brand colors to the navigation, buttons, and award blocks throughout the interface. Each setting shows a live preview so you can check the result before saving.
Set your theme color
On the Theme colour card, click Edit and choose the primary color for buttons, links, and highlighted elements. Customize navigation colors
On the Navigation colour card, click Edit and enter your brand’s hex codes for the side navigation background and top navigation background. Customize the award block styling
On the Award block styling card, click Edit and set the background and text colors for recognition award cards. Save your changes
Click Save in each edit dialog to apply the color and theme settings. Click Reset to default in a dialog to revert that setting to the Empuls default.
Color best practices:
- Use hex codes from your official brand palette, not approximations.
- Maintain WCAG AA contrast ratios for accessibility (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text).
- Test color combinations in both light and dark browser modes.
- Avoid using red/green contrasts as the sole distinguishing element — these are invisible to users with common forms of color blindness.
Brand assets
The Brand assets tab holds your core visual identity: logo, login background, favicon, bot avatar, and yearbook design.
Upload your logo and core assets
Click Edit on each card to upload or replace:
- Program logo — Appears in the platform header and email notifications.

- Inner page theme — Consistent layout for inside pages.
- Component colors — Colors for dividers, borders, and design accents.
- Text color — Font color for yearbook content.
- Background image — Optional background for visual depth.

Click Edit on the Wishboard background card and choose how wish cards on wishboards are colored:
- Single colour — All wish cards use one background color. Click Edit next to the color swatch to pick a custom color or enter a hex code.
- Multi colour — Wish cards use the default set of varied background colors.
A preview of the wish cards updates as you change the selection. Click Save to apply, or Reset to default to revert.

Each upload dialog shows the recommended image size and supported formats. Use the delete option on a custom banner to restore the default image.
Program settings
The Program settings tab lets you rename the platform and configure global preferences.
Open Basic configurations
On the Program settings tab, click Edit on the Basic configurations card.
Set the program name
Enter your organization’s preferred name for the platform. Examples: “Recognition Hub”, “Culture Pulse”, or “Appreciation Platform”. The default is “Empuls”. Configure global preferences
Super Admins can also update the point name (what your engagement credits are called), the currency and conversion factor, the platform timezone, the default language for all users, and the default company homepage. Save the program name
Click Save. The program name is used in all email notifications sent from the platform.
The program name can be changed at any time — open the Program settings tab and click Edit on the Basic configurations card. It must be 3–50 characters and becomes the default in all outgoing email notifications to your team, so changing it after launch changes what your employees see in email.
Feed post style
Choose how recognition posts appear in the activity feed. On the Program settings tab, click Edit on the Feed post style card and select a style:
- Prominent image — The award image is the visual centerpiece. The nominator’s citation appears as standard text above the image.
- Prominent citation — The nominator’s written citation is the hero element, styled with a customizable background. Best for organizations that value the written message over the visual.
A preview of both styles appears in the dialog. Click Save to apply your selection.
Homepage editor
The Homepage editor lets you choose the layout of the employee home screen from three options. Navigate to Platform Settings > Homepage Editor to preview and select a layout.
After selecting a layout, click Save and Publish to apply it for all employees.
Some homepage layout changes require backend enablement. Contact cs@xoxoday.com if a layout option is not available in your instance.
