A Wish Board is a shared digital board where teammates post messages, GIFs, and photos for a colleague’s special moment — a birthday, work anniversary, a farewell, a milestone. Each post becomes part of the board, and at the end of the celebration window everything is compiled into a Yearbook the colleague can keep. From a celebration card on the Celebrations page or feed, click Open Wishboard to reach the board.

When Wish Boards open

Empuls creates a Wish Board automatically for:
  • Birthdays — Opens the day before and stays open for 7 days.
  • Work anniversaries — Opens on the anniversary date and stays open for 14 days.
  • Service awards (year 1, 3, 5, 10, etc.) — Opens at the milestone trigger; window length depends on your admin’s milestone configuration.
  • Welcoming new joiners — Opens on the joiner’s start date.
  • Exits / farewells — Opens when an employee’s exit is scheduled.
You can also open a Wish Board manually from a Celebration card if your admin allows it.

Open the celebration

From the Celebrations page or a feed post, click the Wishboard link.

Write your message

The composer supports text, emoji, GIFs (if Giphy is enabled), photos, and signature stickers.

Pick a card style

Several card backgrounds are available — pick one that fits the moment.

Post

Your wish joins the board. It’s visible to everyone with access to the board.

Signature pages

For larger celebrations (milestone anniversaries, retirements), Wish Boards offer signature pages — a styled page where everyone’s signatures and short notes appear together, like a real-life going-away card. To add your signature, click Sign the page on the board. Your name, role, and short message join the signature collection. Multiple signature pages can exist on a single board.

See who else has posted

The Wish Board shows recent posts in a stream. Scroll to see every wish from every colleague. Filter by team or department if the board is busy.

Yearbook generation

When the celebration window ends, Empuls compiles every wish into a Yearbook — a downloadable, page-by-page keepsake the recipient can save. See Yearbook for the receiver experience.

Privacy

  • Wishes on a Wish Board are visible to everyone with access to the board (usually all colleagues, sometimes restricted by group).
  • If your wish includes private content, edit or delete it before the window closes — once the Yearbook is generated, edits to the source wishes don’t propagate.

Limits and gotchas

  • A Wish Board’s window cannot be extended after it closes. Plan your contribution before the deadline.
  • GIFs and photos count against your post storage quota (configured by your admin).
  • Wish Boards for exited employees stay accessible for a configurable retention window — typically 30 days — then archive.
