The Empuls reports hub centralizes every analytical view across recognition, surveys, budgets, points, and redemption. Standard reports are pre-built for common questions (“Who’s recognized this quarter?”, “What’s our pending budget?”); custom reports let you build your own slice; live-status pages give real-time visibility into points and approvals. Open the hub in your tenant at https://<your-empuls-url>/home/reports.

Before you start

  • You must be a Super Admin or have Reports permission via a custom role.
  • Some reports are scoped — a manager-level report only shows their direct line; an org-wide report shows everyone.
  • Heavy reports run in the background. You’ll get a notification when an export is ready to download.

Quick reports

The reports landing page surfaces the most-commonly run reports as one-click tiles:
  • Recognition this quarter — Count, top recognizers, top recipients, breakdown by award.
  • Pending nominations — All nominations awaiting approval, grouped by approver.
  • Survey participation — Active surveys with response rates and completion timelines.
  • Budget burn-down — Total budget spent vs allocated, year-to-date.
  • Top redeemers — Employees redeeming the most points.
  • Engagement leaderboard — Highest-karma employees by configured leaderboard.
Click a tile to open the report with current data. Most tiles support a date-range filter.

Build a custom report

Open Analyze

From the Reports hub, click Analyze → Custom Report.

Pick a data set

Choose a source: recognition events, point transactions, survey responses, leaderboard scores, redemption history.

Add filters

Filter by date, department, location, business unit, employee status, or any UDF.

Pick columns

Select which columns to show. Drag to reorder.

Group and aggregate

Group rows (e.g., by department) and apply aggregations (sum, count, average) per column.

Save or export

Save the report to Admin Reports for re-use, or export the current snapshot as CSV.

Live status

Live-status pages refresh every few seconds. Use them when you need right-now numbers — for example, before a finance close to confirm pending budget, or before a board meeting to quote redemption metrics.

CSV downloads

Every report has a Download CSV button. Large reports run asynchronously — you’ll get a notification when the export is ready. CSVs are also available in Archived Reports for 90 days.

Archived reports

Reports older than the active window (typically 30–90 days depending on report type) move to Archived Reports. They’re read-only but downloadable. Retention is configurable per Empuls plan tier.

Limits and gotchas

  • Custom reports can return up to 100,000 rows per query. Larger queries should be split by date range.
  • Live-status pages are eventually consistent — there can be a few seconds of lag between an event and its reflection.
  • Reports honor access control. Users without the right permission don’t see specific reports at all.
  • Exports of survey responses respect anonymity rules — anonymous responses cannot be exported with employee identifiers.
